Client: JD Equipment Inc.
Situation: Design a unique retail showroom for JD Equipment in New Albany, Oh with a mix of conventional building components on a tight delivery schedule.
Presidential Solution: This 17,000 square-foot building is a pre-engineered building with a mix of conventional building components including hardiboard siding and a pre-engineered concrete wall. Presidential Steel Buildings had the engineering challenge of creating seven gable and slope buildings that had to connect with two mezzanines, one of which is a hanging mezzanine used as a front window display area.
One building was completely glass. Another building section had a gable building attaching to a side wall. In another section, a hip and valley connection made for a unique design, as well as an engineering challenge.
The 20-feet high ceiling in the front area provides an open-air and industrial feel to the space, and to maximize operational energy savings, six-inch insulation was added in the ceiling and 4” was added in the walls.
Presidential’s standard 24-gauge metal standing seam Zeus Shield roof provides weather tight and snow load protection for the building. In addition, special downspouts were added to meet local building code requirements.
It was a very tight delivery, 8-week, time frame.
The inside of the building is multi-functioning with a retail store, a service shop, parts department, and a corporate training center on the second level.
Gioffre Companies, Inc. served as the general contractor.
